Mariano López Jiménez and Gregorio López Gómez from the area of Chactoj in the municipality of Zincantan were held in custody (arrested) for 11 hours on Sept. 30th as well as dispossessed of their belongings. On Oct. 4th at 9:30pm the caciques of Chactoj, (PRD members) as well as a patrol of the municipal presidency of e detention took place in a different area then that which is depicted in a photo attached to the article. The JBG has also stated that those involved were members of the PRI and PRD, therefore having absolutely nothing to do with the EZLN.

Later two death threats against the autonomous authorities of the community were found. These threats are believed to be the work of the paramilitary group Opdic Roja. They are believed to be in response to the opening of an Autonomous Municipal Market as well as work being done to reconstruct a school both of which are recuperated buildings.

The Junta of Caracol IV of Morelia demands justice for the actions that occurred on September 11, 2007 en the community of Bolom Ajaw. On this day at approximately 16:30, Manuel Jimenez Alvaro, Jeronimo Morales Alvaro, and Manuel Mendez Silvano were violently interrupted by a group from OPDDIC (Organization for the Defense of Indigenous and Campesino Rights). After being brutally attacked, the 3 men were detained and further terrorized and intimidated.
