CASA Statement on the Crisis in Oaxaca

As many of you are aware, political oppression and state violence has been escalating in Oaxaca over the past week.

CASA Seeks New Board Members

CASA, Colectivos de Apoyo, Solidaridad y Acción (formerly the Chiapas Peace House Project), is currently seeking candidates for its Board of Directors.  As a small organization with only two staff, the seven member Steering Committee plays a vital role in the functioning and long term planning for the organization. Members serve two-year terms (with possible re-election), and are actively involved in guiding our social justice solidarity work in Oaxaca, Chiapas and in the United States. Members are responsible for fundraising, outreach, and networking within the US, and may lead a separate committee (see below for a full description of Board of Directors expectations). We are a growing organization that depends on the passion, commitment, follow through, aptitude and experience of all its members. We are seeking candidates with experience in Latin American solidarity work or other social justice activism, who are committed to building cross-boarder movements for social and economic justice.  Conversational Spanish is preferred. If interested, please submit the following application. You may reach us with your application and/or questions at cbossen@mindspring.com. The deadline for applications is December 1.
