Delegation Hosting

CASA has experience hosting and co-hosting 1-2 week educational delegations in Mexico for students, churches and solidarity groups.

Delegations can travel throughout different parts of Mexico (primarily Oaxaca and Chiapas) learning from a wide range of non-governmental organizations and communities.

Delegations can be organized to reflect the interests of the group. Previous themes have included "Religion and Social Struggle", "Chiapas Political Context", "Immigration", "Human Rights Situation in Oaxaca", "Fair Trade", or service-oriented trips. Delegations typically discuss neo-liberal globalization and its effects on Mexico, immigration, privilege and international solidarity, and social justice struggles in Mexico and the US.

Our Workshops provide some sense of the kinds of topics we cover. Also check out our Sample Delegation Itinerary Chiapas or Sample Delegation Itinerary Oaxaca for a sense of the pace of the delegation.

Costs depend on number of people and length of trip, but typical costs range between $550-$1000/delegate, not including airfare to Mexico. This fee would include: transportation within Mexico, translation, donations to speakers and communties, materials, food and housing.
